1. There is a $1000 non-type for type core penalty when replacing a flat cam & lifter application with roller cam & lifter application. To determine if the engine has the roller lifters, do the following: Pull the
valve cover and remove a push tube, look down at the lifter at the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position. The 250 HP engine has a "hanger or tab" on the side of the lifter that keeps it from rotating. If the lifter does
not have this feature, then it is not a 250 HP engine and a lower HP engine should be used to avoid any penalties.
